Workers at Zespri's Te Awanui packhouse in Mount Maunganui were clamouring to catch a glimpse of Prime Minister John Key when he visited on Thursday morning.
The visit was part of a one day visit to Tauranga - the second since he became Prime Minister.

A group of kiwifruit sorters in the packhouse were using their mobile phones to take photographs of the Prime Minister and were shocked when he walked over and asked if he could pose in a photograph with them.
He had his accompanying press secretary take the photographs with their mobile phones.
John Key broke in to laughter when he asked one of the workers how many children she had, the woman replied, "I've got five children. No I've only got four. I didn't tell my husband about the other one."
The Prime Minister continued on his tour of the packhouse, seeing where the kiwifruit comes in, how the fruit is packed and where the fruit is stored before shipping.
He left the packhouse at about 10.45am and carried on to a meeting with Western Bay of Plenty Grey Power before attending a luncheon at Mills Reef.
