Recently, golliwog dolls have come out on display again and there has been a bit of hoo ha about it being racist as it slings off about black people.
To put the story right this is absurd, as golliwogs have nothing to do with black people.
The golliwogs were originally made to represent the blackened figures of chimmey sweepers in the 19th Century in England.
So all those shops and people who have got golliwogs keep selling or displaying them as there is nothing racist about them, it is only the PC brigade causing trouble.

You are so right Ian. This is all part of the emasculating efforts of the said PC brigade . I wonder is it about time we Europeans got up on our hind legs and screamed about people with darker skins having white dolls to play with as it tears our souls to shreds as we weep in our beds at night because the racist implications we have to suffer every time someone plays with a fair skinned doll. Gollies have been for sale for quite some time in the UK now with little comment from the public. Alastair
