Join in on Bayfair's birthday

Bayfair turns 30 next month – and the shopping centre is looking for Bay of Plenty locals who share their birthday to help them celebrate.

The centre officially opened its doors in 1985, and to mark the occasion they are looking for people of all ages whose birthday falls on Friday, May 8, to join the party.

At a special event, there will be activities and afternoon tea provided plus a special gift and the chance to mix with young and old who share yours – and Bayfair's – birthday.

If you are a Bay of Plenty local whose birthday is on May 8 and you'd like to be invited along to join in the celebrations at the shopping centre, we want to hear from you.

The first 30 people to contact us here at SunLive will get an official invite, and proof of date of birth will be required.

A spokesperson for Bayfair says: 'The shopping centre is looking for Bay locals of all ages to come and help celebrate not only the centre's milestone, but the community's too.

'We're looking for friendly faces to celebrate with, whether young or old, surfer or skater, little ripper or retiree. We want to make this an occasion to remember.

'Over the centre's 30 years Bayfair has solidified its sustainability and community-focused stance within the region and throughout the country.”

Children under the age of 16 are welcome to enter, but if successful, they must be accompanied by an adult on the day.

If your birthday falls on May 8 and you'd like to join the party, please email: newsroom@thesun.co.nz with ‘Bayfair Birthday' in the subject heading. Please include your name and how old you will be on May 8.

Winners will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis and will be informed via email. The closing date is Wednesday, May 6.
