Trees cut down illegally

Tauranga City Council are appealing to the public for vital information after three large poplar trees were illegally felled.

The trees, about 20m tall, were felled at the end of Matapihi Road, resulting in some damage to a neighbouring property.

Photos supplied by council show the trees felled across a stretch of road.

Maybe it is not about trees but about stopping access for the crazy Southern Pipeline scam, ops I mean scheme.

Does anyone really care?

other than the council seat warmers in the parks and reserves department. What do you expect landowners to do when they are not ALLOWED to do as they please on their own land??? (I'm NOT suggesting that they were involved in this case at all, time will reveal all) They are just trees! unfortunately they caused unnecessary damage to other property.

It takes a while to cut down trees you would think after the 1rst one came down with a bang somebody would have heard something but three come on!!

Somebody needed firewood -

but they are a bit late for this winter - the wood needs to dry out first. Oh forgot, whose house did the trees shade in the summer, or who wanted access to a section ?? that the tees blocked ............ They are BIG trees and they were not chain sawed in two minutes - somebody would have known what was going on. Hope the council chops them up and gives the wood to people that need it for the winter.

Good job
