Suspicious fire in Levin

At about 5pm yesterday the Fire Service and Levin Police were called to a fire at a residential property in Liverpool Street, Levin.

A member of the public alerted the Fire Service to the fire and the house was ablaze when emergency services arrived at the scene.

The occupants of the property were not home at the time of the fire.

The fire was brought under control however the house did sustain some damage.

Police and Fire Safety investigators have examined the scene and are treating the fire as suspicious.

A scene examination at the property is continuing today.

Levin Police are seeking sightings of suspicious behaviour around Liverpool Street between 4pm to 5pm yesterday and encourage anyone with information to contact police.
