A 29-year-old man will appear in the Auckland District Court today on several charges in relation to last Saturday night's (April 4) alleged assaults of an Onehunga couple.

The victims were notified of yesterday afternoon's arrest and advised the man is charged with two counts of injuring with intent to injure, two of unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, two of intentional damage and one count of burglary.

Detective Senior Sergeant Paul Newman says he was proud of the work his staff did over the past week, pleased to be able to advise the victims of today's development and thankful to all those who assisted the investigation.

like this low-life should be given a punishment that he won't forget for a while, but of course he won't, because the system plus a smart lawyer will have the scum out of jail & back on the streets ASAP, so he can do the same thing to more old folk who can't defend themselves, He is obviously a big brave man choosing old people to assault because they are easy prey.
