Boat flips, two rescued

A vessel capsized off the coast of Tauranga and remains at sea tonight, while its two crew have been safely rescued.

The boat flipped about six nautical miles from Karewa Island.

Other boaties who witinessed the event called emergency services, before pulling the people from the sea. The crew were safely rescued and delivered ashore at Sulphur Point.

Plans are underway to salvage the upturned vessel.
