A 37 year old Gate Pa man has been charged with a raft of sexual offences, including rape of a female under the age of 12.
He has also been charged with two counts of indecent assault of a female under 12 and unlawful sexual connection with a female under 12.
Detective sergeant Zane Smith says the incident occurred outside Tauranga but is now being controlled by Tauranga police because the alleged offender lives in the city.
The man is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Thursday.
