What's on Today? The big game

Good morning Sunners,

It's the sporting event that has gripped the nation. And today's the big day.

Tauranga's Kane Williamson will be part of the team which could make history today.

There's a few cricket fans in the SunMedia offices, so we are backing the Black Caps today as they prepare for the biggest cricket match in its history.

Come 4.30pm, the nation is most likely going to hold its breath with us as the game hits our television screens.

To help you keep occupied pre-game, check out what's happening in and around the Bay of Plenty during the morning.

Tauranga's pug owners are invited to gather at Memorial Park on Eleventh Ave today, in a bid to establish an official pedigree pug presence in town for owners.

Meet down by the water at Memorial Park on Eleventh Ave, from 2pm. The event will be on rain, hail or shine.

Papamoa community groups are invited to show their ‘neighbours' what they're all about at today's Neighbours Aoteroa Fun Day at Simpson Reserve.

Many groups, clubs and organisations will be operating either a food stall, table display or demonstration to show residents who they are and what they have to offer to the community. It's about seeing what makes a suburb tick.

Sunday's Fun Day will offer food and refreshment stalls, demonstrations, displays, bouncy castles, chair-o-plane and carousels.

There's also $1000 worth of items and vouchers to be raffled off, with Papamoa Surf Lifesaving Club and Papamoa Support Centre the beneficiaries.

The Neighbours Aotearoa Fun Day is on March 29 from 10am-3pm at Simpson Reserve in Papamoa. Entry is free.
