The bike and hot rod show is on at Cherokee Place in Mount Maunganui from 10am to 2pm today. Entry is a gold coin donation.

Event organiser Garry Graham says there's about 80 hot rods and about 200 motorbikes at the show.

'We've got all sorts of rods here. We've got a sprint car here too, and a Midget. There's a bit of everything for people to come down and see. Families are very welcome.”

There's also live music for entertainment and ‘the food is flowing', says Garry, who says one of the highlights is the burnout on the Harley Davidson at midday.

'We've got a dragster here that fires up every half an hour or so too.”

Garry says Bay of Plenty Coastal Cruisers Motorcycle club rooms are open every Friday night for people to come down and see what they're all about.
