Rainy days ahead

Showers that greeted Bay of Plenty residents this morning are expected to continue for the next five days.

A complex system of fronts and lows is sitting over New Zealand bringing unsettled and changeable weather.

The MetService is forecasting five days of showers, with chances of heavy rain in the Eastern Bay.

The MetService says one or two showers are predicted for the Bay today and temperatures are expected to sit around the 24 degree mark.

This is the forecast for most of the week, with temperatures sitting in the mid-20s and scattered showers predicted over the coming days.

While there is no warnings in place for the region, the MetService is forecasting heavy rain to hit the Eastern Bay of Plenty ranges around Friday.

There is a moderate confidence that rainfall accumulations could reach warning criteria.

However, the MetService advise that this could all change depending on the weather patterns.
