Man's leg crushed by tractor

A Gisborne man whose leg was crushed by a tractor yesterday was airlifted to Waikato Hospital.

The incident happened on a farm around 10km outside Gisbourne.


A man who crushed his leg under a tractor has been flown to Waikato Hospital.

The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to airlift the man to hospital at about 2pm.

The man was initially taken to Gisborne Hospital by Eastland Community Trust helicopter after being freed by firefighters.

The Westpac Rescue was then dispatched with a specialist ICU retrieval team to fly the injured man to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
