A fireworks explosion gave a woman such a bad fright she fell off her bicycle on Maungatapu Road on Friday night.
The accident happened near BP Maungatapu at about 8.30pm, but because the woman appeared unhurt, was not reported to police.
A forecourt attendant says the woman was picked up by the driver of a utility vehicle, who put the bike on his truck and took her to the petrol station
“She said someone threw fireworks at her and she got such a fright when they went off, she crashed onto the road.
“She was very shaken, but didn’t seem to have been injured.”
