Auckland City Police, Fire and Ambulance services are currently at the scene of a train versus pedestrian fatal crash in Morningside Drive, Morningside.

The incident occured at a barrier controlled road, rail and pedestrian crossing.

The pedestrian is deceased at the scene.

As a result of the crash all train services are halted on the Western link line until further notice, the rail provider is arranging alternate transport.

Morningside Road is closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic between McDonald Street and New North Road, it is estimated that the road and rail restrictions will be in place for the next three hours.

The cause of this fatal crash will be fully investigated by Police and involved agencies.

No further details will be released in regard to the deceased until family notifications are completed.
