Rudd strikes back at arrest

'Inept and irresponsible policing” are the words being used to describe the handling of Phil Rudd's case by his Tauranga lawyer.

Craig Tuck is striking back on behalf of the AC/DC drummer, and says Rudd's reputation has been damaged.

AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is looking into what avenues he can pursue to get his reputation and career back on track.

Rudd was arrested in November following a police raid of his Bureta home and charged with attempting to procure murder, threatening to kill, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cannabis.

The more serious charge of attempting to procure murder was later dropped after Crown solicitor Greg Hollister-Jones reviewed the case and found there was not enough evidence to move forward on the charge.

Craig says Rudd is planning on defending the remaining charges when he next appears in Tauranga District Court on February 23.

'It remains concerning that in spite of lawyers arriving within 15 minutes of the search commencing at Mr Rudd's home, the media were already there,” says Craig in talking about the initial search on the rocker's home on November 7.

'The damage to Mr Rudd's reputation, especially at this age and stage of his life and career has been significant - on a global scale. Whatever happened to giving people a fair go?”

A team of international lawyers are working to ascertain the extent of damages and appropriate reparation and relief to Rudd's 40-year career.

Craig adds: 'We're looking into what appear to be inept and irresponsible policing practices.”

Craig says Rudd is a long-time resident of Tauranga and behind the scenes supporter of numerous charities and community events who values the lifestyle that Tauranga and Mount Maunganui provides in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Rudd says the local support has been overwhelming.

In an interview on TVNZ Rudd says he is planning on returning to work with AC/DC.

'I don't care who likes it and who doesn't,” he states. 'The original charge of getting someone to do something… ludicrous. Why would I do that?”

Rudd says he wants his job back and his wants his reputation back.

'Everyone listens to the wrong people, I'm a good drummer, ask Angus,” he adds.

Cops were d*** from the start. Laying procuring murder and withdrawing them the next day. Although, Rudd should stop behaving like a child too.

Is that the same fair go

Hhhmmmm, he says he wants his reputation back huh..... Well maybe if he kept to his bail restrictions, got help to get off and stay off drugs (which is easier said than done), he might get the respect he deserves

Bit of a smokescreen?

Perhaps it's a bit to soon for Rudd to go mouthing off to anyone stupid enough to listen. Lets all wait and see if he gets convicted or not and if he does, how serious the court sees it and deals with him!

Police State today is arrogant extremely aggressive an prone to withholding key information from defense lawyers and judges. Their core business is laying charges for financial gain via the bench (Bank) the Judge a ( Teller) as per UCC-Universal Commercial Code. Thus PS is not interested in the true facts pertaining to charge laid and are willing as we see in this and most cases just to use the current process and lay as many possible charges as might stick in the hope of getting one success. Thus if anyone thinks we have justice or real Law and Order happening in this country then one is deluded. The damage done to Rudd reputation will impact his earnings like what happened to Jackson and recently Cliff Richards. Rudd needs to sue for hundreds of millions in damages because that's what he has and will loose as a result

Wisechief you are right about getting a fair trial. A friend watched a Hawkes Bay policeman lie in Court, plus an acquaintance in Tga. got arrested one pm as he happened to be riding his Harley in the area, that another motorcyclist had committed an offence in(a mistake in identity, plus unknown to my friend as he does not belong to any motorcyle clubs)-the cops dropped him face down on the pavement, almost breaking his glasses, accused him of drink riding(he doesnt drink)and hassled him for hours. No charge!

Go phil

If Rudd doesn't fight back and seek compensation the Police State which hates to admit error or pay compensation as we have seen via numerous instances of late, Bain, Thomas, and tens of thousands of others not known to the public and who are poor usually Maori will use millions of taxpayer funds to seek via continued persecutions-prosecutions as in the Dot Com and other high profile cases. Notice how Police State has no hesitation to waste vast amounts of taxpayer money to push their point across whether it be legal or illegal. If this doesn't work they intimidate parliament and force a new law through which is then applied in hindsight or retrospectively as per (Tuhoe Spying Debacle). Note this is now common practice though illegal under UN conventions of which NZ is a signatory. They now make and administer the laws which is totalitarian New World Order stuff.
