TEL road works tonight

Last week's wet weather postponed road works planned for the Tauranga Eastern Link, which are now scheduled to take place tonight.

Night works are expected to take place on State Highway 2, between Te Maunga and Bruce Road at the Mangatawa interchange site.

The road works postponed from last week are due to take place tonight.

The works will take place from 6pm through to 6am to allow placement of the concrete bridge beams.

'All State Highway 2 traffic will be diverted on to the new Mangatawa interchange northern on and off ramps to then re-join the State Highway,” says a statement from the NZ Transport Agency.

'During this time a manual stop/go and 30km/h temporary speed restriction will be in place.”

Night works are also planned for SH2 between Domain Road and Welcome Bay Road.

These works are to allow for line marking, removal of old line markings and the placement of concrete protection barriers to be undertaken for the new Tauranga-bound slip lane.

A manual stop/go and a 30km/h temporary speed restriction will be in place.
