Far North woman still missing

Police are still looking for a 48-year-old woman who has been missing since Friday afternoon.

Leeann Ailini Scott was last seen at the Taipa shops and an extensive search by Police, Fire, and Far North LandSAR volunteers failed to locate her.


Police are asking for information about a woman who may be hitchhiking around the North Island.

Police say there have been reports Leeann has been seen hitchhiking and believe she might be in the Foxton area.

Leeann is described as a female Maori, about 176cm tall and of solid build.

She was last seen wearing an orange fluorescent top, black pants and Nike running shoes.

Anyone who may have seen Leeann, or know of her whereabouts, is asked to contact their local police station with any information.
