Drug raid accused in court

A Te Puke woman facing seven methamphetamine dealing charges will remain behind bars until her next court appearance.

Bail was declined for Lynette Merana Williams, 43, when she appeared in Tauranga District Court after being arrested as part of police raids on 10 Western Bay of Plenty properties.


Cannabis was among the items seized during the overnight raids.

Williams is charged with possession of methamphetamine for supply and supplying the drug on three occasions between November 16 and 23.

No plea was entered and she has been remanded in custody until December 11.

Williams was one of five people to appear in court yesterday.

Michael William Griffin, 46, from Parkvale, is facing seven counts of dealing cannabis and has been remanded in custody until December 11.

Kaha David Palmer, 32, is facing one count of possession of methamphetamine for supply and is also jointly charged with his partner Kate Victoria Fraser, 27, with possession of the drug for supply.

The pair have been remanded on bail and are next due in court on December 18.

Nicolette Theresa Bigwood, 44, is charged with methamphetamine and cannabis dealing offences, including supplying both.

Bigwood was remanded on bail until December 18.

The group were just five of 20 people arrested as part of the conclusion of Operation Mantis.

The operation began over a month ago and saw police execute search warrants on 10 properties in Tauranga and Te Puke.

A total of 60grams of methamphetamine, 25 ounces of cannabis, $5000 in cash and numerous items of stolen property have been recovered.
