Bay Oval fun for young cricket fans

Fans of all ages will be catered for when first-class international cricket comes to the Bay Oval for the very first time next week.

The Mount Maunganui venue plays host to two one-day internationals on Tuesday 21 and Friday 24 October, with New Zealand's Black Caps taking on the might of South Africa.

The ANZ Cricket Zone will be available to kids and their parents.

And as well as accommodating cricket lovers from across the region and beyond, families can get in on the action with the creation of a special area for younger fans of the sport.

At what will be the first international match of the summer series on Tuesday, the ANZ Cricket Zone will be set up to help entertain families who are keen to soak up the action on-and-off the field.

Kylee Daniel, senior sponsorship manager at ANZ, says anyone who has a ticket to either game can visit the family area.

'The ANZ Cricket Zone gives kids as well as parents the chance to test their cricket skills,” says Kylee.

'There's fun cricket challenges such as the speed bowling and crazy catch games, as well as giveaways and plenty of free sunscreen for everyone.”
