The 62 year old driver who died as a result of a motor vehicle crash in Ohope on Friday October 10, was Gale Hine Williams, late of Opape, Toatoa.

Police enquiries into the cause of the single vehicle crash are continuing. Gale died on Pohutukawa Avenue, near Bluett Road, about 1.30pm.

Police say the vehicle crossed the centre line and has crashed with a tree on a grass verge. Gale died at the scene. Two passengers in the vehicle were uninjured. The police serious crash unit is investigating the cause of the crash.
