TCDC on song with new database

All local musicians or bands who are on the hunt for great gigging opportunities should sing out to the Thames Coromandel District Council today.

The TCDC is working with regional tourism operator Destination Coromandel to create a database for professional musicians and bands from the district.

Destination Coromandel manager Hadley Dryden says they want to promote and support home-grown talent.

'When someone is setting up an event, a festival or even a wedding they can click onto the database and connect with our local artists.

'Many festival and event organisers may not realise we have a vibrant and talented music industry.

If Destination Coromandel and TCDC can provide a one-stop shop to let people know what is on offer within the district it's of benefit to everyone, says Hadley.

Along with connecting event organisers to musicians and bands, the database will also provide an opportunity for local artists to connect and network. It will also be linked to the TCDC website.

If you are a musician or band and want to be listed on the database email your details and any online links to TCDC communications and marketing manager Laurna White at laurna.white@tcdc.govt.nz
