Images of the man, armed with a stick, were caught on CCTV footage when he entered the shop on Windsor Road at around 7.15pm on Tuesday night.

Police are asking for help in identifying this man who robbed the Bellevue Superette armed with a stick.

Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier says the offender is shown as wearing a distinctive black and white checked jacket and a dark coloured woollen hat.

'Someone must recognise this offender and his clothing so we appeal to those people and in-fact this offender to come forward,” he says.

'The victims of this robbery are understandably still traumatised and we want to locate this offender before he commits any further crime.”

Darryl says the offender confronted the store attendant demanding cash and left the store with some property.

'Police are still wanting to speak with three men seen in the vicinity of the Superette, Windsor Road robbery at around 7.15pm.

'Also police would like to hear from anyone else who saw anything suspicious around the Superette at that time, and the photo of the offender may jog someone's memory.”

CCTV Cameras

I notice that most cctv cameras are mounted high up, giving a downward shot ( not so good to get face shot) They would be better employed at head height to have a better chance of identifying offenders.

Agree with Kopchai

Yes, cameras need to be lower down, but installers seem to be totally unaware of the need. Even banks have them mounted far too high. Mount them at chest height so they are inclined slightly upwards to confound the guilty.
