The body of a woman has been found inside a burning house on Number 1 Road in Springdale, Waikato, yesterday afternoon.

The body was discovered shortly after Fire Services arrived at the address and extinguished the flames after responding to a call about a house on fire just before noon.

Police and ambulance services also attended the scene and the area has been cordoned off as a scene investigation is carried out by Fire staff and Police.

The scene will be guarded overnight and the scene examination will recommence this morning.
