Tauranga’s respite from rain

Tauranga looks set to enjoy a respite from the recent wet weather with fine weather forecast for the area until Friday.

The wet, cold and squally showers which have dampened the North Island since late last week have moved away, leaving room for the weather to improve starting today.

The sun will shine in Tauranga today through until Friday, predicts the MetService.

MetService meteorologist Elke Louw says with conditions clearing overnight lows are expected to dip into the low single digits over most of New Zealand.

'But things warm up as we head into the middle of the week.

'Today and tomorrow will be the fairest days of this week, although there could still be one or two showers around as the disturbed south-westerly flow slowly weakens.”

Tomorrow could see a high of 20 degrees Celsius – the warmest for the week.

But don't get too comfortable, rain is predicted to return to Tauranga on Saturday, and looks set to stay through until at least Thursday, October 2.
