Simon Bridges announces win

Simon Bridges has secured his Tauranga seat for another three years.

The 37-year-old has just made the announcement in front of family, friends and supporters at No.1 The Strand tonight.


Simon making the announcment he has won the Tauranga seat for a third time alongside with wife Natalie Bridges.

With 80 per cent of the Tauranga electorate's votes counted at the time, he had an overwhelming 17,115 votes.

Now, 100 per cent of the votes are now counted, with Simon securing 18,967.

In second place is NZ First's Clayton Mitchell with 5441.

This will be Simon's third term as the Tauranga MP.

Well 18,967 other Tauranga people don't agree with you, and have demonstrated this with their votes. As for your allegation of rigging, I'll put that down to "election trauma".
