Voting is now underway for the 2014 general elections.

Voting polls opened at 9am around the Western Bay of Plenty and will shut down at 7pm.

All advanced voting results from people who voted before today is expected to be released about 8.30pm, with 50 per cent of the tallied votes expected about 10pm.

Full results are predicted to be released about 11pm.
