What do you have to hide?

Fugitive whistle-blower Edward Snowden is back in the media claiming Kiwis are subject to mass surveillance through spyware Xkeyscore.

He also claims the US National Security Agency has two facilities in New Zealand – which Prime Minister John Key has denied.

Mr Key says he cannot give an absolute assurance Kiwis are not subject to mass surveillance by the NSA, but he is "comfortable" it is not happening.

But in all the pre-election chaos, do people really care about the accusations? Are they bothered if they're being watched?

SunLive asked some of you if you had anything to hide, or anything you didn't want the Government to see.

Watch the video above to see what they had to say.

If he is not sure they are in New Zealand and he should know as SIS Minister how is he comfortable when he does not know.It is about privacy John Key not spying on us.Edward Snowden said he has seen New Zealanders information.Economical with the truth I think John Key.Would he like someone trawling through his stuff I wonder.

Illegal, or just embarrasing?

I have nothing illegal to hide, but there is a rather large amount of very embarrasing stuff that I'd rather keep secret.

couldn't have come at a better time for those of us who believe that this sort of technology is vital in the current world climate. The days of knowing your neighbour are long gone, just ask the neighbours of the meth lab cooks, dope sellers and the other low life losers resident in our communities.

Looks what has just happened in Australia we need surveillance to keep us safe. Obviously not been doing a good job or Dotcom would never had got into New Zealand.

With regard to "What have you got to hide", bureaucracies often make cock-ups, and if you are the victim of a beaurocrat who won't admit a mistake, no matter what, God help you. After 40 years in government and quasi government organisations, I know how it can go.
