It may look like a miserable day outside but there is still plenty of activities happening in and around Tauranga to keep people entertained.
Canoe Slalom Bay of Plenty is inviting people down to the Waimarino Kayak Centre on Taniwha Place, to have a go at kayaking.
People are being invited to have a go at kayaking this afternoon.
The free event, which is being held by Canoe Slalom Bay of Plenty and not the Waimarino Kayak Club, will be at the far end of the centre from 1pm.
Organiser Claire Gilbert says no experience is needed and the event is about seeing if anyone is interested in seeing what is involved in the sport.
From 12.30pm at Tauranga Domain, Bay of Plenty will take on Auckland in the Roller Mills Rugby Competition for 13-year-olds.
