The Green Party continues to try to mislead the people of New Zealand.

In the recent Minor Leaders Debate Russell Norman intimated his party was the only one concerned about water purity in this country.

He is totally wrong. He well knows, or should know, the present National Government is already implementing a sound and science-based water improvement programme.

This policy is the result of extensive consultation and collaborative discussion with the many stakeholders affected by water quality and use.

The RMA is being simplified to provide certainty and predictability in this matter for local councils and their communities. The 2014 Budget provides more than $20 million extra to facilitate this.
