Sexual assault in Te Teko

Police investigating a complaint of a sexual assault in Te Teko are asking for information from the public.

The incident is reported to have happened sometime between 3pm and 3.30pm on Monday when a young woman was sexually assaulted by a youth near the netball courts at Eivers Park.


Police are investigating a sexual assault in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Police describe the man as being in his late teens with short black curly hair and was wearing black clothing and a red hat.

Officers had the park cordoned off for most of the day yesterday as they completed a scene examination.

'Agencies, including Victim Support, have been engaged to support the victim and her family,” says a statement from police.

'Police are speaking with other people who were present at the time of the assault in an effort to identify the person responsible.”
