Real people for real policy

New Zealanders from all walks of life have helped the Internet Party create a full platform of strong, progressive and realistic policies that will create a better future for everyone, says leader Laila Harré.

'The Internet Party has only been around a short time but already we've created a full suite of policies that will deliver the change New Zealand needs. The best thing is that we haven't done this behind closed doors – our members and the public have led the way by working through and debating the issues using the online tools we've provided them with to create policies that will work.

'It's true digital, direct democracy. Our policy development has involved real people coming up with real solutions to the very real problems facing New Zealand.”

Laila says that while the recent revelations sparked by Dirty Politics had dominated the news, it was strong and workable policies that would ultimately deliver what New Zealand needed.

'The National Government still has some very serious issues to address, and we need to get to the bottom of it. But let's not forget that the goal is to make a positive change for all New Zealanders, not just a select few. We have the policies that can deliver the positive change that everyday Kiwis are crying out for.

'We have so many issues to deal with in this country –inequality, lost hope, the current government's lack of vision for a way to improve the lives of all Kiwis. The Internet Party, in partnership with the MANA Movement as Internet MANA, has the answers.

'We still have some major policy announcements to make but what we've achieved so far is remarkable. It's proof that real people have the power and that together we can make a difference.”
