Young crash victim from Tauranga

The 24-year-old woman killed after being struck by a vehicle in Wellington at the weekend has been named by police as Alix Rae Robinson from Tauranga.

Alix died after being hit by the car on Vivian Street in central Wellington about 1.40am on Sunday.

She was taken to Wellington Hospital after being treated at the scene but died shortly afterwards.

The Serious Crash unit is investigating and the driver of the car is being spoken to.

Alix attended Tauranga Girls' College and was selected for the New Zealand Underwater Hockey Colts side in 2007.

It is understood she graduated from Massey University and was a working in Wellington as a creative writer for The Radio Network since July last year.

Police say Alix's family are asking for privacy and will not comment at this stage.

A funeral notice from the family states Alix was 'tragically” taken as the result of an accident and was the beloved daughter of Tracey and Rae.

She was the much loved twin sister of Dail, sister of Tess, Kristy, and Emma. She was the loved and special partner of Henry.

Granddaughter of Mams and Undad, and Renee and Len.

A service for Alix will be held at The Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club on Thursday at 1pm.
