Tauranga Independent Rusty Kane wants NZ grown and produced produce to be GST free.

This will give local suppliers a competitive edge over imported produced and made produce.

NZ made produce cost a little more to produce compared to overseas produce.

Removing the GST content will make NZ grown and produced produce more competitive at around the same price or cheaper than overseas imported produce with the GST added.

This is not only good for NZ grown produce suppliers but also the NZ economy as more consumers will buy more NZ grown and produced produce over imported produce.
