Car crunched over wrong turn

A two car collision at Redwood Lane last night was caused by a driver U-turning on the highway after he missed his exit, says Tauranga Police.

Acting Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager, Sergeant Mike Owen, says a following vehicle collided with the turning car in a low speed impact.

One of the cars crashed into a road sign on State Highway 29 at Redwood Lane.

There will probably be an infringement notice issued, says Mike.

Both vehicles were damaged, and while fire and St John ambulance were called to the scene on State Highway 2, there were no injuries and no one was trapped.
