Competition to make the Western Bay JMC title deciders started back in May, with the finalists emerging after plenty of battles of attrition on their way to Super Saturday.

This weekend's semifinals saw a real upset emerge in the under 11 division, where Papamoa Blue came from the fourth qualifying position to defeat top qualifier Judea in a thriller.

Papamoa will square off against Te Puna who beat the combined Eastern Districts and Te Puke Sports side.

The big boys of Super Saturday will contest the Under 13 championship with top qualifier Te Puna taking on arch rivals Greerton Chargers.

In the Under 12 grade the top two qualifiers of Katikati and Greerton Black will meet to chase the championship title.

The tournament opener at 8.30am, sees Rangataua and Mount Green square off in the Under 10 (ten aside) division.
