Intruder gets into bed with home owner

At approximately 6.45am today, a man entered a home on Baxter Place, Rotorua.

The man entered a bedroom where the female home owner was sleeping.

He has tried to get into the bed with her.

The woman woke and realising that the man was not her partner, yelled at him and then punched him.

He ran out of the house and she heard a vehicle start up.

The woman was left frightened but unharmed.

The male is described as being aged in his early 20's, with light coloured skin, medium build and approximately 5ft 10" tall.

He was wearing dark framed reading glasses, dark coloured tight fitting beanie, grey hoodie and blue jeans.

Police are also interested in a light coloured vehicle, possibly a late 90's Toyota Corolla described as having round lights at the front and dents in the back.

This vehicle was seen parked on Owhata Road from 6.15 am and driving on Baxter Place before the incident.
