Police are attending a crash on State Highway One near Puhipuhi Road, north of Whangarei, where one person is reported to have died.
The crash involving three cars occurred about 3.45pm.
Two others are seriously injured. Ambulance and Fire Service are also at the scene.
The road near the crash scene is closed and traffic diversions are in place.
Motorists heading north are being diverted through Jordan Valley Road and those heading south are being diverted through Hukerenui Road.
