Key 'must name party staffer'

John Key must reveal the name of the National Party ‘staff member' that National has admitted accessed the Labour Party's database in in 2011 because all the evidence points to Jason Ede who works from John Key's office, Labour campaign spokesperson Annette King says.

'John Key has repeatedly denied any National Party involvement in accessing Labour's database in 2011, despite a clear admission in a 2011 email Labour released yesterday from National Party General Manager Greg Hamilton that confirmed a staff member accessed Labour's website and downloaded material.

'This is another chink in National's strategy to brush off all the examples in Dirty Politics, following on from Judith Collins' admission yesterday that she passed the name of a civil servant on to Cameron Slater.

'However Steven Joyce is still reciting from his comms playbook, dodging the questions and refusing to confirm what is made clear in the 2011 email.

'New Zealanders deserve better. They want answers. Dirty Politics makes it clear that Jason Ede claims to have accessed the website but John Key can't make up his mind who Mr Ede works for. Mr Key and National must name the staff member who accessed Labour's website to clear up this matter once and for all.

'Kiwis are telling us they want positive politics focusing on policy for creating a better New Zealand. Labour is focused on campaigning on our positive vision for a better and fairer New Zealand,” Annette King said.

The book reveals dangerous political tactics not needed in NZ. Shady, underhand, evasive and 'at the end of the day' not the brighter future we were promised by Key before the last election.
