Motorists are being reminded to expect delays if using the Takitimu overbridge as road works continue this week.
The NZ Transport Agency says one lane is closed in each direction and a temporary speed restriction of 50km/h is in place.
NZTA have been working on repairing lanes on Takitimu Drive overbridge.
The works are strengthen the bridge joints on the overbridge and started earlier this month.
The works are scheduled to finish on August 31.

the Romans can build roads and bridges that can last a thousand years Yet we can't build roads or bridges to last 10 years without major repairs needed. Surely someones head needs to roll for such an abject design fault and lack of foresight in not making this bridge strong enough. Or do these roadmakers and engineers see the roading industry as a cashcow. Maybe a politician could also answer this with this being election year
