Right royal photo bomb

Tauranga sevens guru Sir Gordon Tietjens is part of the latest Commonwealth Games royal photo bomb, this time by Prince Harry.

The Prince got in the background of a photo of Sport Manawatu chief executive Trevor Shailer, sports psychologist Gary Hermansson and Sir Titch at the swimming arena in Glasgow.

In the photo, taken by former New Zealand hockey representative Bev Hari and posted on Sport Manawatu's Facebook page, Prince Harry can be seen giving a double thumbs up behind Shailer.

He did this while watching the day's swimming action a few rows back with Prince William and Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge.

"Photo of the day," Shailer wrote on Facebook.

"A Royal photo bomb by Prince Harry with Titch and Gary Hermansson at the swimming venue tonight.”

The Prince's photo antics come after his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, was spotted in the background of a selfie of Australian hockey players Jayde Taylor and Anna Flanagan earlier in the games.

Sir Titch's Sevens' side run of Commonwealth games gold came to an end on Monday after falling 17-12 to South Africa in the final.

It is the side's first loss at the games since its inception in 1998 – marking an incredible 30 match winning streak with four gold medal previously.
