Today will see fighters battle it out in the 34th ITF Taekwon-Do New Zealand national championships at the Queen Elizabeth Youth stadium today and tomorrow.

The championships are expected to draw in around 350 competitors as well as another 300 coaches and officials to the city this weekend.

Ages of competitors range from 7- 57-years-old and from novice to World Champions.

Some of the current and past world champions will be competing include Carl Van Roon, Mark Trotter, Melissa Timperley and Estee Speirs.

Competition begins at 9am and runs through until 4pm both today and tomorrow.
