Peacefully at Carter House, Te Puke on July 22, 2014 aged 97. Beloved wife of the late John Bernard Wort. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Pamela Wyrt (deceased), Graham & Margaret (Western Australia), David & Lois (Te Puke), Bev Nairn (Pukehina), Bergan & George Thompson (Thames), Brian & Joan (Canada). Cherished grandmother of Murray and Phoebe; Suzannah, Fiona & Michael; John, Michael, Richard, Stephen & Siobhan; Chrissie & Scott, Robbie, Trish; Damon & Claire, Nina & Dean, Josh & Ruth; Greg, Tracey & Ryan, and Courtney. Loved by her 9 great-grandchildren. A lady of courage and grace has passed from our midst but her memory will live on in the minds of those who loved her. In keeping with Thora's wishes a private cremation has been held in Tauranga.
