Tauranga rocker and AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd is releasing his debut solo album on August 29.

The album, called Head Job, and the single Repo Man is available on You Tube.

In an interview with Sydney radio station Triple M on Friday, Phil says most of the material on the album is better than the single.

'I hope everyone thinks this is a great album from start to finish because that's the idea," says Phil in an interview.

"We didn't put anything on there that we didn't like. There's no filler."

Phil's made the album with local musicians Allan Badger and Geoffrey Martin.
