Truck driver still missing

The police operation to find a missing driver of the truck which crashed on State Highway 1, near Hundalee, Wednesday about 5.30am is on-going.

Sergeant Graeme Crosson says the drivcer has not been located yet.

Yesterday, the tractor unit and trailer were lifted up and out of the ravine with the use of a crane.

The truck and trailer are extensively damaged.

The terrain is challenging and the search and rescue operation has been suspended until first light tomorrow morning.

The next phase will involve clearing the debris and freight and search teams will be on site early to recommence the search.
