Peninsula presence on board

The Coromandel will be well-represented on the Department of Conservation's Waikato regional board with three locals being appointed or re-appointed.

Arthur Hinds from Whenuakite, Joyce Birdsall from Tairua and Kevin Robinson from Thames join David Taipari from Ngatea on the newly-announced board.


Three people will represent the Coromandel on the newly-announced Waikato Conservation Board.

Coromandel MP Scott Simpson is pleased his region's communities are well represented on Waikato's Conservation Board.

'I want to congratulate the Coromandel locals who've been appointed, or reappointed,” says Scott.

'Coromandel is blessed with New Zealand's finest natural surroundings. Our representatives' local knowledge will directly benefit our communities.

'That's because they'll advise the New Zealand Conservation Authority and Department of Conservation about planning here.”
