Information sought following assault

Police are asking for information from the public after a woman was confronted and assaulted outside her home in Lichfield, Tokoroa, this morning.

Police say the woman was leaving for work when she was assaulted and had a small amount of cash stolen from her.

'She was discovered injured by a family member who took her to Tokoroa Hospital. She is now at Waikato Hospital where she is receiving treatment for facial injuries; bruising and swelling,” says a statement from police.

Officers investigating the assault are asking for information about any vehicle parked with two or more people acting out of the ordinary, on SH1 Lichfield around the houses and roadside close to the Sheepskin Factory.
