Woman shoved in robbery

Police are appealing for witness to a daylight robbery which saw an elderly shop owner shoved to the ground.

A woman entered Cato's on Eruera Street in Rotorua about 2.45pm and left with a 'yet to be determined sum of cash”.


Police are appealing for information about a daylight robbery in Rotorua.

Detective Sergeant Richard Lang says no weapon was used in the robbery.

'The elderly shop owner was pushed to the ground and suffered minor injuries. An ambulance was called but the woman didn't need to go to hospital.”

The offender is described as a light skinned female Maori, possible in her 20's, around 157cm tall, with light brown hair to around her shoulder.

Richard says she was wearing dark clothing.

He says it's unknown which direction she took when leaving the store as the elderly shop owner was pushed to the ground.
