Flavoured P message a hoax

A viral message alerting parents to be aware of flavoured methamphetamine in schools is a re-occurring hoax say Police.

The message, spread by both e-mail and social media, suggests flavoured methamphetamine known as 'strawberry meth” or 'strawberry quick” is handed out in schools and mistaken as candy, causing serious illness to those who ingest it.

The urban myth is thought to originate in the United States and has been recognised as a hoax since 2007.

Police urge members of the public to delete this message and contact your local police station if you have any concerns about your children's safety.
