Results from the Midlands Intercity Men's competition Round 3.

• CMS Mount beat Tauranga Old Boys 7-1
• (Mount Scorers: Joseph Lyons 3, 1 each for Logan Thompson, Lincoln Churchill, Dan Rae, Brad McKenzie. TOB Scorer: Cam Keogh)
• Bayleys Otumoetai lost to One Puke in Pukekohe 0-1

Sunday 13th April

The Tauranga Homegrown Team arrived in Hamilton to make amends for the 0-5 lose from the last game against this Waikato team in Pukekohe.

What a final the spectators were treated to. The game seesawed back and forth for the first 65 minutes.

Scores were level at 5-5 with under 10 minutes to be played. Waikato scored to go 6-5 ahead and with two minutes to go, Tauranga pulled their goalkeeper off to launch one final assault on the Waikato goal.

Unfortunately, a few missed opportunities could have had us holding the trophy. Waikato got a final break and with no goalie, sealed the victory 7-5 to take the inaugural trophy.

It was a great six week competition that will make next year's far more competitive. It was great having all our top players back playing in the Tauranga uniform and representing there association of origin with pride.
