Motocross crash injures rider

A 20-year-old motocross rider has been flown to hospital after crashing his bike during a motocross track event today.

The Hamilton-based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Patetonga Motocross Track this afternoon to retrieve the motocross rider after an eye witness reported the man's bike clipped another and went 'out of control”.

The witness reported the man flipped over the handlebars and landed on his head and neck.

The man and his mother were flown to Waikato Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
